This report has been put together by carefully analyzing over 300k logos from the past 17 years, handpicking those that contribute to emerging trends for the year. The findings & insights are found below.

2019 Logo Design Trends Report Summary
- Less traditional colors are being used
- Patterns & textures are replacing color fills
- Odd gradient hues are being utilized in attempt to “own” a gradient blend
- High-chroma gradients are rampant
- Identity is often trumping logo design in terms of brand hierarchy
- New plugins, filters, effects & animation are making way for new treatments
- Repeated themes include; drones, vaping, tacos, weight bells, lightbulbs, mushrooms, tikis, waffles and needles

1. Morse Shade
Dots & dashes with rounded extremities, often to convey motion or shading
2. Loaded
Layering of elements with high contrast
3. Orphan Shadows
Subtle shadows that convey depth, often singular in application
4. Zip Tone
Retro tonal shading, reminiscent of the 70s
5. Dots
Oversized dots often to convey a pattern, shading or tone
6. Highlights
Sparks of color for visual flair, often in electric hues
7. Quarters
Quartered circles, squares and triangles arranged in a pure form
8. Spell Signs
Single lined, geometric forms aligned with precision
9. Holes
A shape purposefully carved in or around other elements
10. Spot Drag
Dynamic and vivid blends between shapes, often circles
11. Gradient Breaks
A stepped gradient effect, often split along geometric breaks
12. Contour Stripes
Providing dimensionality with a variety of wrapped lines
13. Period
Use of the dot for visual emphasis and/or making a statement
14. Wings
Shapes and letters forming wings, or a shape with wings attached
15. Doors
Doors or windows used to convey connectivity to another place
