What to Look For When Buying an All-in-One Computer
With so much hardware packed into an all-in-one computer, knowing what to look for can get complicated quickly. To offer some help, we wanted to do a quick rundown of what you should be on the lookout for.
Hardware: A system that comes with either an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor is a good place to start. Having at least 8GB of RAM is recommended
Storage: There are many different storage options out there but the best will tend to offer a dual-drive set up with a 1TB hard drive along with a 256GB SSD to deliver performance without breaking your budget.
Display: Obviously if you can find a display with 4K resolution, you should seriously consider it. Screens in the 27 and 28-inch range tend to be the best combination of size and price.
Touch Screen: If one of your must-haves if a touchscreen, that’s fine, but you will pay more for a display that has it.
Design: No one likes an ugly looking machine. If you’re worried about how it will look, you may want to focus on the AIO’s ergonomics with an emphasis on the stand it is using considering most don’t offer any height adjustment options.
Operating System: While there are a few different choices out there, generally going with either Apple or Windows are your best options. However, if you want a touch screen, go with Windows.
Ports: Just because it’s an All-in-One doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to have things that you need to plug into it. Making sure that your computer has enough ports well within reach can make hooking things up much easier while you’re working.
Sound: If you’re looking for a quality audio experience, make sure to choose one with lots of speakers
Price: All-in-One computers tend to be more expensive than a regular desktop computer but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a great option at an affordable price. You just need to be sure exactly what you are looking for so you can get the best possible price.
